So we had our DL assessment yesterday. There was stuff that my little monkey could not do, but am still very proud of him and extremely grateful to Mitul and Shilpee ma’am. If you are wondering why, it's because I saw that spark in him that he will do so much more in the future.
Things that he could do he did with supreme confidence. Some people advocate baby-led weaning, but I advocate child-led therapy. I have chosen not to work with people who Reyansh is not happy to work with, those who use the word can't a lot and who do not understand what neuroaffirming means.
Both Mitul ma’am and Shilpee ma’am assume competence, they believe that the child has agency of his own and every no is not a behaviour. In all my sessions my son likes to cuddle with me and kiss me, a lot of therapists call it escapist behaviour; not these two wonderful teachers, they understand that it's his way of regulating and seeking validation.
Thank you, Mitul Ma’am and Shilpee Ma’am, for understanding Reyansh and, most of all for treating him as a human with potential and not something broken that needs to be fixed.
